Our centre has had a long and fruitful association with APT Childcare. As a large centre we find the programme robust and effective to use, especially for funding purposes. Prompt help desk support is extremely important to us, and APT have this covered. Initially developed in the early 1990's as a DOS application for a small section of the sector that used PC's. Re-engineered in 1999 for Windows and now available as desktop/network or cloud based.

Meet The Team

Shane Ogier

Shane has been in IT for over 40 years, initially specializing in custom solutions for a variety of small businesses.

The last 20 years has been focused on the Early Childhood sector and providing software to keep up with continual MOE requirements.

As the client base has continued to expand, Shane’s role has seen him move into the management of the childcare team.

He enjoys travel and playing badminton for Manawatu Vets teams.

Martin Lawrence

Martin qualified with a degree in Computer Science over 40 years ago. Since then he has developed software and databases for a range of businesses. He enjoys the ongoing and rapid change in the IT industry. He is currently involved full time in the development of Apt Childcare.

In his spare time he enjoys tramping and photography.

Ian Cousins

Ian joined the Apt Childcare team in 2008 with the key role of providing Help Desk support & training to administrators, owners and managers of ECEC’s in the operation of the software.

He has the key role in supporting all aspects and platforms of the system.

Julie Aldridge

Julie joined the help desk team in 2013 from an IT technical support role. She has worked as an IT professional for more years than she's willing to share. 

Outside work Julie is a busy mum, netball coach and sometime golfer.

Nic Ogier

After completing a BAVI degree from UCOL, Nic joined us in 2016 to strengthen our support team.
